Purchasing an alternative fuel vehicle is a win-win situation...for both
our environment, and for your wallet! When you buy a hybrid vehicle or another
qualifying alternative fuel vehicle, you may qualify for certain Tax Incentives
or benefits depending on the state you live in. In some states, you can
drive your hybrid solo in the carpool lane. Other cities/states exempt buyers
from sales tax, parking meter fees, and vehicle inspection responsibilities.
Here at Energy, we'll give you a 1% discount on
your loan rate for qualifying vehicles.
The DOE and EPA have developed a fuel economy web site, www.fueleconomy.gov.
The web site contains an electronic version of their Fuel Economy Guide
and features updated fuel economy data for new and used passenger vehicles
dating back to 1985, allows side-by-side comparisons, and offers fuel-saving
tips. This website will also cover Tax Incentives and features of new hybrid
vehicles.
It's a car powered through a mix of battery and gasoline sources. Engines
are smaller, and the hybrid uses battery power to provide the extra acceleration
necessary to accommodate the smaller size. This allows for excellent gas
mileage and saves on pollution. Save the environment...save gas...and
decrease our dependency on oil and gasoline-powered vehicles.
