Our Membership Applications is available here for you to print out and submit to the credit union via mail or by taking it to a branch. Important Information about Procedures for Opening a New Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: when you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. You will also have to provide to us an unexpired government-issued identification evidencing nationality or residence and bearing a photograph or similar safeguard, such as a driver's license or passport.

Membership Disclosures - You must read before signing application.

To become a member, you must be an employee of one of our Select Employee Groups, or family of a current member. Eligible family members include anyone related to you by blood, marriage, adoption, or other legal means. If you are not sure if you are eligible, please contact our Call Center Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, or email Call2@energyfcu.org.

General Membership Application

Once you have the file opened, you will need to print it out to fill it in. Be sure to sign the application, enclose a personal check of at least $50.00 payable to Energy Federal Credit Union and a legible photocopy of your current (unexpired) drivers license, passport, or an unexpired government-issued ID such as a State Identity card or a Military/dependent Identity card, and mail it to:

By signing the application, you have agreed to having read the Membership Account Agreement, which is available below in PDF format. If you experience any difficulty retrieving these applications, please call us at 301-670-1300 or 800-223-2177.

Once your identifying documentation has been verified and all other requirements for a new account have been met, you will be mailed a New Account packet with your account information. To check on the status of your account request, you may contact us at 301-670-1300, option 3.
