You can now view up to 3 months of EFCU statements via the internet--either logging in from eBranch or via the banner on our home page or the banner below, that says "eStatements".
If you do register for eStatements, that does mean you have agreed to go "paperless" and you will not receive any more paper statements from the credit union for the account that you have registered for. See below for other Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
If you are having any issues with eStatements, please contact our Member Service Call Center at 800-223-2177 or 301-670-1300 (press 3) or email Call2@energyfcu.org. Call Center hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
If you would like to de-activate the eStatement service, please contact the Call Center at the numbers above.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: It did not recognize my name when I tried to register.
A: You must type in your name exactly as it appears on your regular paper statement—or as it appears in your eBranch account.
Q: Can a Joint Account Owner register for eStatements?
A: Enrollment for eStatements must be performed with information for the primary account holder. The primary account holder may give permission to the joint holder to enroll and access eStatements as long as the primary account holder understands and abides by the EFCU Terms of Service.
Q: Will I receive notification when my statement is available?
A: Yes, you will receive an e-mail notification that your statement is ready to view online.
Q: How can I review statements from previous months?
A: You can select from and view any of the statements listed on the screen, up to 3 months prior to the current date. If you wish to see an earlier statement, please contact us at 800-223-2177, option 3.
Q: Can I save the files to my computer?
A: You may save the PDF of the statement to your computer. You will click on the Download option next to the statement you would like to save, or save the PDF while you are viewing the statement.
Q: Whom do I contact about statement discrepancies?
A: Send notice of discrepancies, questions or requests for more information regarding a transaction on your statement to EFCU to the following address:
Energy Federal Credit Union
5 Choke Cherry Road, Ste 110
Rockville, MD 20850
Attn: Call Center
We must receive written notice from you no later than sixty (60) days after we sent the first statement on which the problem or error appeared. Please refer to the Error Resolution Notice in EFCU’s Membership Disclosure Agreement for more information.
Q: Can I view the newsletter online?
A: Each month there will be a one-page newsletter included in the PDF of your statement. You may also view the same one-page newsletter here.
Q: How do I change my e-mail address for eStatements?
A: You can update your e-mail address for eStatements within the eStatement access site. Please note that this will not update your email address in eBranch (do this through User Options in eBranch) or for your eNews Update email newsletter subscription (unsubscribe from one of the emails).
Q: How do I contact Energy Federal Credit Union?
• Within eBranch, you may click on the “Secure Support” button to send a secure email to our staff
• Send an email to Call2@energyfcu.org (not a secure email link)
• Call us at 800-223-2177 or 301-670-1300, option 3
Q: What are the minimum recommended system requirements for eStatements?
A: Any system that has Internet access meets the minimum requirements for EFCU eStatements. You will also need Adobe Reader to open the statement PDF files. You may download this free program at www.adobe.com (look for Adobe Reader)
Q: How do I view and print eStatements?
A: You will need to have Acrobat Adobe version 5 or later to be able to view and print your statements. If you do not have this program installed on your PC, you may visit Adobe for this free downloadable program.
Q: How do I have my statements mailed to me?
A: To switch back to receiving your statements and notices by mail, you must contact us by phone, fax, or letter with a signature—to inform us that you would like to receive paper statements (see above for contact information). This request must be received 10 days prior to the end of the month in order to receive a paper statement for the current period, and if the request is not received in this time period, paper statements will resume the following month.
Q: Can I view statements for different accounts that I have open with Energy FCU?
A: Not under one login at this time. In future enhancements, we hope to be able to provide you with the ability to view all of your statements under one login. At this time, you will need to register for each account you would like to view.
Q: What happens if my email address is undeliverable for the notification?
A: We will mail your statement to the address on file with the credit union, with a notice inside asking you to update your email address in order to receive eStatements. Your statements will mailed to you until the email address is updated. You may need to re-register for eStatements in order to update this email address.
Q: How soon will I receive eStatements after I register?
A: When you register, you will already have past statements available for viewing, and the next statement will be available for viewing as well. If you registered prior to 10 days before the month end, you may not receive a paper statement, and should receive an email notification that your statement is available. Therefore, if you registered less than 10 days from the end of the month, you may receive one more paper statement, but after that—they will all be online.
