Vigilance is the Key to Preventing Identity Theft

October 2015 is the twelfth annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month, an initiative sponsored by Department of Homeland Security.  The biggest concern for individuals with cybercrime is identify theft, or the theft of an individual’s personal information, such as a Social Security number, mother’s maiden name, date of birth or account numbers. With such information, thieves may access your current accounts, apply for loans, and perform other fraudulent acts in your name. 

EFCU would like to remind you that fraud and identity theft come in many shapes and sizes, but the outcome is the same: the loss of both money and time.
